Watch this space! 2018 is gonna be a good year!
Ever wondered why some glass objects/designs cost more than others? Well this is here to help explain why. I know when i make beads from most pinks and some purples the rods cost up to 5 times the normal price, and to top it off, they're harder to work with, as its VERY easy to burn out the colours if heated too much.
Well hello there! Im Gemma Louise, and welcome to my blog! Im super new to Blogging, so bare with me! What a month?! Ive finally got myself a working website! Took a while, and a lot of head scratching but I got there
So – a little about me perhaps? I live out on the Moors in beautiful Devon! Im surrounded by countryside and animals of all kinds – especially ones that like to wake me up at night!
I went to Plymouth College of Art where I got a National Diploma and Foundation Degree in Applied arts, which basically means I got to play with Glass, ceramics and metals for 4/5 years! I now have more time and want to get back to what I love – making!
Here are 3 examples of my student work.
I have 2 basic studios as you can see below. My lampworking area where I melt my glass rods, and this huge table in my living room where I do all my silversmith work, and put all my components together
